Following an invitation by Institute Français du Nigeria to create a collection of photographs that represent entities (in movement), Tersoo Gundu decided to reflect on the theme in capturing dance moves. Because dancers are the artist of movement, the ones able to create poems in which each movement is a word.
Tersoo photographed Emmanuel, telling a story linked to music and certain moods . Emmanuel told a story of freedom. Freedom to define what success should look like to him. He expressed these mental connections with the vocabulary of movements specific to both classical and contemporary Ballet.
“We must allow ourselves the grace to be travelling and not arriving, to choose deep personal progress, rather than mere societal expected movements. ”
